So, on Tuesday evening in Glasgow I had a choice, go and see Duff Mckagan's Loaded or Katy Perry...
Well that was a no brainer (and the blog title kinda gives away my choice)!
Not one to disappoint, Loaded played a rock cover of Katy Perry's I kissed a Girl, for all those Katy Perry fans that had opted to come along to the Garage rather than the SECC!
There was a tinge of sadness when i turned up to the Garage to discover it'd been moved to the smaller G2. Here was a true rock icon who hadn't sold enough tickets to fill the larger section of the Garage. The eternal optimist in me puts this down to bad promotion.
My brother, who I attended the gig with, pointed out that a guy like McKagan probably preferred to play a more intimate venue like this, he seemed to revel in being so close to the audience. He even left the stage to go and play amongst the fans.
For those who haven't heard Loaded's music, it's definitely worthwhile checking them out. Standout songs on the night were Dead Skin, Sleaze Factory, Sick, Attitude and the Guns 'N' Roses classic It's So Easy.
Duff plays music the way I like it, hard and loud.
